Getting started with Meeting Points¶
What does it do?¶
The meeting point endpoints allow you to set the location where your driver will meet the customer. We will use the information you provide us to fill placeholders, around which we will wrap meeting instructions.
For Example:¶
- After passport control and baggage claim, make your way to {location}.
- Head to {meeting point name}, on floor {building level}.
- Look out for your driver, who will be holding a sign with your name on it.
Providing the name of the meeting point and location is our preferred way to handle this, as it will allow us to translate the surrounding text into all 42 languages our customers speak. However, if you’re only able to share the free text pickup instructions then we will accept this.
Please keep free text instructions concise and specific to that location, rather than sending, for example, a list of instructions for each terminal at an airport. There will be a character limit to preserve customer experience (no customer wants to read a wall of text after their flight!).
We'll also be capturing the meeting point GPS coordinates, which will allow the location of the meeting point to be plotted on a map, so the customer and driver can find each other more easily.
The data should be provided as soon as possible after booking, and at least 24hrs prior to the pickup time, so that pickup instructions can be included as early as the journey reminder email for the customer.
Why use it?¶
Customers rank “being able to easily find the driver” as one of the most important things to them - use this feature to improve quality of service and receive more bookings.
